Why Understand Trauma?

PARENTING: Trauma informed parenting allows parents to recognize and respond to the needs of children around stress and external traumatic expereinces and supports adults in coping with their own trauma to decrease the chances of negative behavior caused by it.

RELATIONSHIPS: For the self– can build a better sense of communication and reflection so that self-destructive and unhealthy habits can be lessened. Partners can better empower eachother, be empathetic but with clear personal boundaries, emphasize being solution oriented instead of focusing on faults. Being trauma informed allows the self to regulate thoughts and feelings for healthier expression, understand their own boundaries, and understand & feel secure with their partner’s and their “faults” (which are able to be grown).

INFORMED CARE: for those in the medical field, providing trauma-informed care allows an increase in the feeling of safety, choice, trustworthiness and individual empowerment.
